Abhijaat Short Film Festival

Welcome to the first-ever Abhijaat Short Film Festival, organized by the Abhijaat Film Society. Our festival is dedicated to honoring the artistry and vision of short filmmaking, showcasing a carefully curetted selection of films that encompass a wide range of genres and themes. As passionate society for the cinematic arts, we are committed to providing a platform where emerging filmmakers can shine and established filmmakers can further their artistic endeavors. Through screenings, and engaging panel discussions, we aim to foster an environment of creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange. Rules & Terms for Abhijaat Short Film Festival

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Open to filmmakers of all levels, from amateurs to professionals.
  • Open to all genres of short films , documentary, animation, experimental, video song etc.
  • Duration of the film should be Minimum 2 minutes and maximum 45 minutes including credits.

Submission Guidelines :

  • Films must be submitted with English subtitles (if the original language is not English).
  • Submission formats commonly accepted include online screeners (via platforms like Vimeo or YouTube, Google Drive) or file uploads (such as MP4 or MOV) along.
  • Submission of film poster and synopsis is compulsory.

Copyright and Permissions :

  • Filmmakers must have the necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for all aspects of their film, including music, images, and any copyrighted material used.

Originality :

  • Entries must be original works of the submitting filmmaker(s). Plagiarism or unauthorized use of another person’s intellectual property will result in disqualification.

Multiple Entries :

  • Filmmakers may submit multiple entries, but each film must be accompanied by a separate entry form and separate submission fee

Submission Fee :

  • 849 INR (Per Submission)

Selection and Judging :

  • Selection criteria typically include artistic merit, storytelling, technical quality, and Direction.
  • A panel of judges or jury will evaluate the films and their decisions will be final.

Notification and Screening:

  • Filmmakers whose films are selected will be notified via email or through the festival’s website.
  • Selected films will be screened during the festival, and filmmakers may be invited to participate in Q&A sessions or other festival events.

Rights:

  • By submitting a film, filmmakers grant the festival the right to screen the film during the festival and potentially use excerpts or images from the film for promotional purposes.
